ACHAAR GOSHT RECIPE
A tangy, pickle-spiced achaar gosht made with Namak Mirch Achaar Gosht Masala, with masala-stuffed green chillies simmered into a rich gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken/meat with bones
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 8 green chillies
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 6–7 medium tomatoes, chopped
- ½ kg yogurt
- Namak Mirch Achaar Gosht Masala (½ packet)
- ½ cup oil
Method
- Mix 2 tbsp of the achaar masala with the lemon juice. Slit and clean the green chillies and fill them with the masala and lemon juice mixture.
- Add the chopped tomatoes to ¼ cup of the oil and cook until soft, then mash them completely and remove.
- In the remaining oil, add the garlic, ginger, chicken/meat and Namak Mirch Achaar Gosht Masala. Add the yogurt and cook on high heat for 5 minutes. Add water and cook until the chicken/meat is tender.
- Add the tomato mixture and stir-fry on high heat for 5 minutes. Place the chillies in the gravy, turn the heat to low and cook until you see the oil rise to the top.
